2008 AGM The
Saskatchewan Soccer Association's Annual General Meeting will take
place in Prince Albert, SK from April 5th, 2008. One item of business that will be on the agenda is the

The Swift Current Foresters U16 United boys soccer team finished the Crusaders Father's Day Tournament in Medicine Hat with three wins and one loss on their way to a silver medal finish.
The United boys rattled off three straight wins before falling 5-0 to Calgary Sunny South United who won the tournament while outscoring their opponents 35-0.
In their tournament opener the United boys downed Kindersley convincingly 8-0 led by a trio of Ty Vandersteen goals.
Conrad Flaterude added a pair of markers followed by singles from Brandon Hammel and Colton Harris. Ryan Stenstrom added a goal of his own from the penalty spot. Stenstrom and Brody Gader shared the win in goal.
Saturday morning Swift Current defeated Calgary NSDSC United 5-2 behind another Vandersteen hat trick.
Flaterude notched another pair of goals in the contest.
In their third contest Swift Current defeated Regina REU United 4-3 on single goals from Flaterude, Stenstrom, Fisher, and Tyler Nybo.

The Swift Current Foresters U12 United boys soccer team captured a silver medal at the Challenge Cup in Saskatoon over the weekend to wrap up their season in fine style, while the U12 girls narrowly missed the final.
In the final, the United boys fell 5-1 to the Saskatoon Eastside Jets on a single goal from Jaylen Mayall.
Swift Current began the tournament with a 6-1 loss to the Jets on a lone goal from Dylan Griffen.
In their second game, Swift Current trampled Regina Queen City United 5-1. Cody Froese, Nick Gillies, Cody Janzen, Mayall, and Griffen each scored in the win.
In their third game, the United boys earned a 1-1 draw with the Regina ACFC Pumas on a Austin Friesen goal.
The U12 girls began their tournament with a 5-0 loss that exposed their lack of game action in recent weeks.
Swift Current recovered from a poor start against the Prince Albert Celtics to dominate the second half and earn a 1-1 draw.
Next Swift Current downed the Saskatoon SCUSC Prairie United 4-0.
In their final game of the season the United girls dropped Regina Queen City United 8-0.
Their 2-1-1 record tied Swift Current for second spot in the round robin but they missed a spot in the final on goal differential to Prince Albert.

Swift Current Soccer Association product Matt Bazin recently played in the U14 Reese Cup All-Stars tournament with Team Saskatchewan in Regina.
Saskatchewan won three games and lost twice, placing seventh out of 10 teams at the tournament which took place last Tuesday to Sunday.
“Our first game against Alberta was one of our best games. We lost 2-1 in the shootout, I scored the first shootout goal,” said Bazin.
Bazin and Team Saskatchewan would recover to win games over New Brunswick 5-1, Newfoundland 2-0, and Prince Edward Island 5-0.
In their final contest Team Saskatchewan lost to Nova Scotia 2-0.
“Overall it was a really great tournament. The coach was pleased,” said Bazin.
Bazin is in his third year in the Team Saskatchewan program after staring for a number of years with Swift Current Foresters United Soccer Club indoor and outdoor teams.
Bazin began with the U12 developmental program and has since played with U13 and U14 Team Saskatchewan squads.
In his time with Team Saskatchewan Bazin has made trips to Portland, Oregon, Vancouver, Edmonton, and now Regina.

The Swift Current Foresters United Soccer Club made appearances at the Saskatchewan Soccer Association’s Division Two provincials in Moose Jaw. Despite their best efforts no Swift Current teams were able to advance past the round robin events.
The U18 Foresters United girls narrowly missed the playoffs after winning once, losing once, and tying two games. Had the Swift Current girls scored one more goal in any of the three games that they did not win, they would have advanced to the gold medal game on Sunday in Moose Jaw.
In their opening game the United girls lost a hard fought 1-0 decision to the Saskatoon Eastside Extreme.
In their second game on Friday Swift Current dropped Regina Queen City United 8-0.
Casandra Evans led the offense with three goals, while Lindsay Siemens scored twice. Katie Avram, Sydney Little, and Ashley Wilk each added singles.
Saturday Swift Current tied Lloyminster Meridian Lightning 2-2.
Evans and Siemens both scored in the draw.
Needing a win Saturday afternoon, the United girls tied the Saskatoon Hollandia Stars 0-0 to finish third place in the five team round robin event.
The U-14 United boys coached by John Liston and Robin Ailsby finished with one win and two losses and missed the playoffs in the eight team event.
In their first game Swift Current downed Regina Queen City United 2-0 on goals by Ty Vandersteen and Brody Moate.
In game two the United boys lost to Saskatoon Aurora 4-0.
In their third game Swift Current needed a win but fell 4-0 to Prince Albert to end their playoff hopes.
Registration
City Wide Registration will be held Monday Mar 10th/2008 and Tuesday Mar 11th/2008 at the Civic Center from 6:30pm to 8:30pm.
Youth Soccer Season begins April 28th, 2008, ending June 21st/2008. Playoffs begin June TBA ending June TBA.
Senior Soccer Season begins May TBA ending July TBA. Playoffs begin June TBA ending July TBA
